About Me

My photo
Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, now living in Cheshire, England. I started to write poetry some years ago, as a hobby. I have enjoyed that new venture very much. My preferences are for long and micro-form poetry styles. A first book of poetry ~ Reason Without Rhyme, was published in December 2013. A second book ~ Fifty Seven Pebbles, was published in September 2015...I am presently compiling the content for my third book. Thank you for visiting my Blog... The Best of Both....

Generally hovering above and beyond,
The call of indecision looms close nearby.
Immeasurable in an immense generosity,
Incalculable pangs of frequent despondency.
A silent slippage simply wrestles the wellbeing,
Grasps with an unrelentless pull into a darkness.
Light ceases to influence or instil desire of being,
Commencement of a return is in futuristic mode.
A body between opposing zones exhausts easily,
Deprived of contentment and the clarity to exist.
Long shadows presently cast a distorted outlook,
One wills goodness to permeate in a short term.
Intervening days and nights rest upon the internals,
Remuneration collated in the sighting of a single smile.

  1. WOW Eileen. I had to read this twice - wasn't sure what the meaning was, but that's a good thing! The best poetry is sometimes ambiguous :)

  2. It can be difficult to get beyond the indecision that sometimes cripples a person. A single smile can sometimes light the way!

  4. You have enough material in these few lines for a major saga! Indecision is sometimes the best call, though it's easy to chose between generosity and despondency--unless they are in the same person. So few see the pressures beneath the surface of what we show, but I know that when most down simply remembering that Light follows Darkness can help a lot. And a smile. Bless you, Eileen. Thank you for this poem.

Indecision afflicts many mainly because one treads new grounds most of the time to progress forward. But it should not pull one down that progress is adversely affected. It should be all the while under control and be rewarded with the smile as so aptly rendered here! Wonderful write Eileen!
