About Me

My photo
Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, now living in Cheshire, England. I started to write poetry some years ago, as a hobby. I have enjoyed that new venture very much. My preferences are for long and micro-form poetry styles. A first book of poetry ~ Reason Without Rhyme, was published in December 2013. A second book ~ Fifty Seven Pebbles, was published in September 2015...I am presently compiling the content for my third book. Thank you for visiting my Blog... A Tad Fragile....

Slightly downbeat in mood,
Buoyancy deflated for now.
Bright lights blinding sense,
Distortion grasps the images.
Pulsating pains jab and jive,
Temples stress to contain.
Cowering close to a finality,
Hope sits on faraway horizons.
Tomorrow is beyond tolerance,
Despair twists a sad conscience.
Salty tears slide in their freedom,
Nothingness is the only company.
Decisions hover in a place of limbo,
Consequences await next actions.
Notes of time edge to the surface,
A conscience touched in a moment.
Down but not beyond temptation,
A helping hand steadies resilience.

  1. Yes fragile and a bit broken. I think your poem goes to a similar place as mine did. Yours is very well done.

  3. We often forget how hard life can be on a daily basis for some, I think. Despair reigns more than hope. So true that a helping hand can make a big difference....letting the down-hearted know that someone cares. Good to see you, Eileen! You were missed.

  4. Reaching out does not have to be complicated but will be worth it if it makes a difference for a homeless or broken person.

Yes, one certainly needs that stability. If only it is given readily! Great word craft Eileen!
