About Me

My photo
Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, now living in Cheshire, England. I started to write poetry some years ago, as a hobby. I have enjoyed that new venture very much. My preferences are for long and micro-form poetry styles. A first book of poetry ~ Reason Without Rhyme, was published in December 2013. A second book ~ Fifty Seven Pebbles, was published in September 2015...I am presently compiling the content for my third book. Thank you for visiting my Blog... Waves and Hugs....Andalucía

The very thought of you ripples these words,
Flapping and tripping over slippery tongues.
Imagining the imaginable in your presence,
Embraced by the charm you await me with.
It’s easy to excite boredom when you invite,
Our near rendezvous sends my heart aflutter.
Cherished memories connect our separation,
Your handsome world has inspired my muse.
Perched high above the world of monotony,
I seclude myself within the confines you offer.
Snatched times at ease in this togetherness,
Your sunny location oozes warmth and beauty.
Trivialities seem less fraught in this sanctuary,
I hug your being and defer waves of goodbyes.

  1. The last few lines struck me so beautiful I couldn't help but close my eyes as I recited them:

I seclude myself within the confines you offer.
Snatched times at ease in this togetherness,
Your sunny location oozes warmth and beauty.
Trivialities seem less fraught in this sanctuary,
I hug your being and defer waves of goodbyes.

A truly magical piece of work :D
    Lots of love
    Sanaa

  3. Ah, sometimes one wants to deter those waves and hugs as long as possible....keeping that feeling of togetherness as long as one possibly can.

  7. When I read your opening lines, I knew you had found a place that opens your heart even if you just think of it:"The very thought of you ripples these words," where better to imagine?
"Perched high above the world of monotony,
I seclude myself within the confines you offer."
Oh, do, do, and as often as possible!
