About Me

My photo
Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, now living in Cheshire, England. I started to write poetry some years ago, as a hobby. I have enjoyed that new venture very much. My preferences are for long and micro-form poetry styles. A first book of poetry ~ Reason Without Rhyme, was published in December 2013. A second book ~ Fifty Seven Pebbles, was published in September 2015...I am presently compiling the content for my third book. Thank you for visiting my Blog... Threads of Freedom....

Threadbare in many parts,
Abuse gradually impacts.
Maltreated and presumed,
We often overlook the gift.
Centuries before our time,
It was simply another word.
Decisions amassed as actions,
Many fought and died for it.
Weltanschaunng now demands,
Causes to legislate and legalise.
Today’s moaning wants more,
Sack cloth and ashes of greed.
The weird and bizarre vocalise,
Wrongs are the rights of now.
Whisper behind a cupped hand,
The world is listening to your all.
Pigeons carry innermost secrets,
Trust eroded by tetchy technologies.
Big brother’s sister knows about you,
Don’t dare say you dislike aubergines.
Choice is not a freedom for dissent,
The movement of populism says so.

  1. Choice is bot a freedom for dissent. Exactly. Probably the most ho.east line about the state of our society that I have read today.

  13. Hypocrisy is a devious playmate...if you own such a playmate...Rather, find the gifts of elsewhere, without strings attached. An interesting piece of writing.

  18. "Wrongs are the rights of now." An indelible line and - in the context of society's current predilection in favor of passivity and indifference - courageously forthright.
