About Me

My photo
Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, now living in Cheshire, England. I started to write poetry some years ago, as a hobby. I have enjoyed that new venture very much. My preferences are for long and micro-form poetry styles. A first book of poetry ~ Reason Without Rhyme, was published in December 2013. A second book ~ Fifty Seven Pebbles, was published in September 2015...I am presently compiling the content for my third book. Thank you for visiting my Blog... Bouquets of Blessings....

There is a presence all around us every moment,
Not always touching nor in our deepest conscience.
Yet, it gently rests in the background of a knowing,
Its simplicity is in the ordinariness of life’s routine.
Flighty garden birds and seasonally scented blooms,
Or knowing and loving the sharing and caring of friends.
Joyous embracing of family fun and times of returning,
Warmest memories always remember a homely welcome.
Travelling beyond the close confines of self-containedness,
Resisting prior hesitancies and to experience new worlds.
Gifts of absorbing and capturing so many surprising words,
Written and revealed with the knowledge of being blessed.

  3. Beautiful, Eileen. I think many of us are blessed with the ordinariness in our lives. Simplicity is a gift, I think. And as time goes on, I think we appreciate this more and more.

A truth, a philosophical truth right at the beginning, a classic opening Eileen! It doesn't impact directly but it is there and not many realize this. Merry Christmas to you Ma'am and Happy Holidays!

  7. All the little ties that bind us, Eileen. How beautifully you've captured them! Especially at this hectic time of year, those are the good things to hold close. I think they're the most important. Makes a life that seems ordinary into something rich and extraordinary.
