About Me

My photo
Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, now living in Cheshire, England. I started to write poetry some years ago, as a hobby. I have enjoyed that new venture very much. My preferences are for long and micro-form poetry styles. A first book of poetry ~ Reason Without Rhyme, was published in December 2013. A second book ~ Fifty Seven Pebbles, was published in September 2015...I am presently compiling the content for my third book. Thank you for visiting my Blog... Suitably Satisfied....

Daily bread sent as fulfilling words,
Crumbs of comfort suitably sustain.
Desire and support is kindly effected,
Benefits enhance the highs and lows.
Nourishment extends beyond the day,
Encouraging tomorrow’s inspiration.
Spiritual sustenance revives attitudes,
Seeing beyond future's gathering doubts.
Encouraging thoughts are gladly received,
Appreciation enjoyed in one’s satisfaction.

Mirror Image....

A snapshot of the actuality,
Reality captured in a glimpse.
Being and sense suspended,
Life transferred between times.
Seeing oneself with warts and all,
Light reflected by considered image.
Simply an instant temporal façade,
Concealing and containing inner truths.
The visage masking the soulful content,
Revelation is not just a passing mirage.

Expectations in Passing....

Spiritual expectations gathered together,
As the midnight hour loomed ever closer.
Human warmth felt shivers of near departure,
A sad silence seeped into the final act of living.
Experience almost predicted the very moment,
The expiration of life held within every weakness.
Clasping the ebbing being as separation detaches,
Parallel considerations swirl in composed confusion.
Brave faces shield the truths of an actual perception,
While wishful hopes fade between passages of a life.

Designs and Desires....

Looking beyond the brand new day,
With prospects most scarily secretive.
A whole fresh new pattern to establish,
Unravelling material threads of life itself.
Dreams and optimism woven together,
Opportunities pencilled into possibilities.
Casting aside heavy grudges and angst,
Consigning inferior choices into forgettable.
Setting about with grand designs on futures,
Newness feels good and inspirational in appeal.

Borrowed Times....

Things older and newer have now merged,
Past tenses suddenly altered future positions.
Almost confined to the realms of life’s history,
The annals of memory have just assumed more.
Diaries reveal achievements with great warmth,
Sunnier climes appear in most wondrous images.
Family gatherings recalled with such happiness,
Celebration times march us alongside each other.
The necessary casting out of darker surplus weights,
Hangers-on filed by the appropriate peace of mind.
Old ways called to account and resolutions considered,
New opportunities seek to be unfurled in the year ahead.
Winter days buoyed by fresh intentions yet to be fulfilled,
Times lived between old experiences and new expectations.

Calendar Days....

The sojourn of living is listed annually,
Segmented and singularly delineated.
Ticks of achievements circled to recall,
Notches of disappointments all crossed.
A long view tantalizes exciting possibilities,
While the short term courts sterner reality.
Sprigs of inspiring newness emerge gradually,
Tendrils of blossoming thoughts soon revealed.
Rustic years of simple alignment and old habits,
Resolutions repetitively paced within a promise.
Life itself captured in daily successes and failings,
Turning pages as pasts and futures move on apace.
