About Me

My photo
Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, now living in Cheshire, England. I started to write poetry some years ago, as a hobby. I have enjoyed that new venture very much. My preferences are for long and micro-form poetry styles. A first book of poetry ~ Reason Without Rhyme, was published in December 2013. A second book ~ Fifty Seven Pebbles, was published in September 2015...I am presently compiling the content for my third book. Thank you for visiting my Blog... Mirror Image....

A snapshot of the actuality,
Reality captured in a glimpse.
Being and sense suspended,
Life transferred between times.
Seeing oneself with warts and all,
Light reflected by considered image.
Simply an instant temporal façade,
Concealing and containing inner truths.
The visage masking the soulful content,
Revelation is not just a passing mirage.

  1. Oh, ouch...."a snapshot of the actuality"!! So very true, but sometimes something I would prefer to ignore. Sigh. (LOL) It is true though that we really cannot view the 'soulful content' when we look in the mirror. The mirror does not reveal the depths that reside within.

  2. I love how you inch around to reality as a mirage! Even more convincing to me than a tract in Eastern religion. And also, know ing this helps me deal with those snapped likenesses that find more warts on me than I actually have. Welcome home, Eileen.

  3. so true in concealing and containing inner truths...the mirror does not let us see that at all...only what is there on the outside and apparent....

  4. Warts and all, the reflection of all that is, good and bad, the power of faith over the soul. Hidden depths that make me ponder.

  6. I like the image of the snapshot! You are right, a mirror image is only art of the reality.

We really are so much more than what is reflected back to us in the mirror! I really like these lines!
