About Me

My photo
Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, now living in Cheshire, England. I started to write poetry some years ago, as a hobby. I have enjoyed that new venture very much. My preferences are for long and micro-form poetry styles. A first book of poetry ~ Reason Without Rhyme, was published in December 2013. A second book ~ Fifty Seven Pebbles, was published in September 2015...I am presently compiling the content for my third book. Thank you for visiting my Blog... Renaissance....

At a very particular point in time,
The evidence is clear to be seen.
A precise and measured unfolding,
Life presents itself to the world.
An unravelling and first sighting,
Newness abounds in all its being.
Rebirth of this newly found faith,
Another seasonal renewal emerges.
In realizing that undeniable elegance,
Spring exudes signage of a renaissance.

Her Ways....

Influenced by innocent example of elders,
Stepping stones of life habitually set out.
Grand old wives tales with dark warnings,
Their ethos for living faithfully preached.
Her individual words still easily recalled,
Images attach to present day reflections.
Quietness kept her in a solitary position,
Timidity bound her to a domestic outlook.
Skills honed by worn hands of experience,
Inherited traits set aside for ways of today.
These days she strikes a more confident pose,
Her voice can project into almost all corners.
Unattached from defined roles of confinement,
Varied roles of equal opportunity await interest.
These days she leads while many care to follow,
Instincts tempered by those motherly advisors.

Crossroads of Life....

Behind rests the journey taken thus far,
A truly predetermined onwards direction.
Paths trodden by previous history makers,
Footsteps impress upon latter possibilities.
Choice is simply to placate one’s own mind,
Determining benefits gained from deviation.
Errors of change make and mould personality,
The harder trek demands energies of strength.
Experiences perch above the backwards gaze,
Influenced and affected but now unchangeable.
The unrevealed future holds a nervous interest,
Meticulous preparation still encounters surprise.
The left of rightness leads towards a central point,
Individuality gradually draws itself towards finality.
