About Me

My photo
Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, now living in Cheshire, England. I started to write poetry some years ago, as a hobby. I have enjoyed that new venture very much. My preferences are for long and micro-form poetry styles. A first book of poetry ~ Reason Without Rhyme, was published in December 2013. A second book ~ Fifty Seven Pebbles, was published in September 2015...I am presently compiling the content for my third book. Thank you for visiting my Blog... Mettle....

Encouraging a tired spirit
Requires gentle persuasion
Especially of oneself;
To stretch beyond the cosy
Comfort of resignation and
Forming of easy habits,
Requires new mettle
From within the internal view.
Regeneration of energies and
Enthusiasm occasionally depends
Upon the urge of motivation and
Unexpected surges of inspiration.
The first instances of stepping out
Add courage to the whole perspective.

  5. Your poem is so true. So easy to remain in the safety of old habits. So nice when we're motivated to move, change, do. Good poem Eileen.
