About Me

My photo
Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, now living in Cheshire, England. I started to write poetry some years ago, as a hobby. I have enjoyed that new venture very much. My preferences are for long and micro-form poetry styles. A first book of poetry ~ Reason Without Rhyme, was published in December 2013. A second book ~ Fifty Seven Pebbles, was published in September 2015...I am presently compiling the content for my third book. Thank you for visiting my Blog... Vigilance...

Experience and hindsight attach many cautious notes to life

Hard lessons learnt and sorely remembered tend to remain

Mature voices of wisdom sought to instil their tales of woe

While I in my juvenile world, had to test and try warnings

I knew an iron was very hot, but I just had to feel the burn

It’s sometimes hard to fathom the reasoning or stupidity

When untold advisories are blatantly and flagrantly broken

Boundaries are wilfully crossed and dangers are revealed

Some need to taste many poisonous concoctions of evil

In order to verify that they are not at a social disadvantage

Blindly following celebrity trends of wild and crazy living

Such fallout brings pain to broken relationships and homes

Within this world we find ourselves surrounded by mistakes

The dire consequences of ignoring the perils of disrespect

Oceanic life and nature’s very existence is at immense risk

If we fail to heed tell-tale signs indicating our own demise…
