About Me

My photo
Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, now living in Cheshire, England. I started to write poetry some years ago, as a hobby. I have enjoyed that new venture very much. My preferences are for long and micro-form poetry styles. A first book of poetry ~ Reason Without Rhyme, was published in December 2013. A second book ~ Fifty Seven Pebbles, was published in September 2015...I am presently compiling the content for my third book. Thank you for visiting my Blog... Seasonal...

Salad days have now slowly retreated for the year
Cool summer’s eating replaced by autumnal fare
Harvest time brings a bounty of goodness indoors
Jars of berry jams and assortments of pickles await
Taste buds sense the scent of home cooked meals
Hearty casseroles warm those colder weather days
Family meals echo the fun of shared dining chatter
There’s such warmth in the buzz of a busy kitchen…

Reading this descriptive delicious poem makes me hungry
My aunt used to makes jars of jam and other goodies. I always went berry picking with their family to be turned into jam

  4. Ah, you bring back memories of kitchens I knew, with my grandmothers and aunties and mother all cooking and bottling together to store the food for the winter months.

  6. Curioiusly this took me back over sixty years to the time both mother and aunts were busy in their kitchens after picking fruit from the garden and making jams or bottling the fruit to stock the larders so many years ago.

  8. Autumn brings eating days and it's time for storage, i.e. canning and freezing. I'm ready for your "Jars of berry jams and assortments of pickles." Mom did both those, our daughter experiments with jam, this time buying rhubarb at our farmer's market. Those are my favorites and she made them for me.
