I love the cool feel of fluffy fallen snow
Glittering crystals gathered in mounds
Sunshine days when sunlight twinkles
Gardens full of sweetly scented flowers
Autumn has a magic recipe of its own
Toffee apples and pumpkin smoothies
Springtime opens forth with birdsong
Daffodils and freshly revived trees
Hearing a favourite song of memories
Music channels worlds of adventure
These days are filled with such positivity
Poetic words flowing as free as a river
Sometimes obstacles get in the way
Noise and mayhem clutter pathways
Those are times when life needs luck
Times to learn magic’s secret formula…

A simple list of "magic's secret formula" that's simply magical and lovely. Beautifully written and a pleasure to read.
ReplyDeleteWonderful description of the magic of nature, Eileen.

ReplyDeleteWe do need magic to clear the mayhem of this world... magic beyond the healing of nature and music and poetry!
ReplyDeleteI love the beautiful flow of the poem capturing magic that is all around us : natural and man made. Wonderful, Eileen.

You've captured the magic of the seasons. Another kind of magic might get us to see it despite the obstacles.
There are so many things that bring us magic. Oh if we would just look and let it in. Beautiful poem
ReplyDeleteI love the way you reflect on the larger story of growing up in Ireland during the Troubles and how it was at odds with the experiences of teenagers in other parts of the world. Your letter really made me stop and think. Suzanne - Wordpress blog - Wayfaring.
