About Me

My photo
Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, now living in Cheshire, England. I started to write poetry some years ago, as a hobby. I have enjoyed that new venture very much. My preferences are for long and micro-form poetry styles. A first book of poetry ~ Reason Without Rhyme, was published in December 2013. A second book ~ Fifty Seven Pebbles, was published in September 2015...I am presently compiling the content for my third book. Thank you for visiting my Blog... Light...

Everyday moods can be easily tainted by weather
Once night’s curtains are drawn to reveal the day
Gloomy grey clouds influence a first impression
Whilst inside candlelight casts its cosy warmth
Illuminating all corners of the living room
Shadows dance around flickers of flame
Until shards of light gradually tease my disposition
Inspiration impresses itself upon a fresh imagination
Where clusters of mysterious thoughts get together
Then dark and light merge to become glorious creations…

  1. I love the beauty of flickering candlelight, which does entice us into a happier mood.........on the grey days, I am always happy to be cozily indoors.........

  3. I completely relate to the first line. I'm a little tired of grey gloomy days, and even one small candle seems to give off warmth and a happy sort of glow that can make any gloomy day feel better.

  4. " . . . shards of light gradually tease my disposition . . . " What a neat image. They are so sharp! Good, good! At twi-light when inspiration soars, we see beyond the normal boundaries of things. This is an ode to creativity. Love it.
