About Me

My photo
Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, now living in Cheshire, England. I started to write poetry some years ago, as a hobby. I have enjoyed that new venture very much. My preferences are for long and micro-form poetry styles. A first book of poetry ~ Reason Without Rhyme, was published in December 2013. A second book ~ Fifty Seven Pebbles, was published in September 2015...I am presently compiling the content for my third book. Thank you for visiting my Blog... Picnic...

Sometimes life can be a little uncooperative
Trialling all manner of pesky inconveniences
Especially at those most inopportune times
When inspiration seems to have evaporated
Deadlines loom under the fast fading light
Ideas have abandoned the writer’s plight
Not even a stale crumb of comfort found
Poets know the taste of famine or a feast
When words fail to fill all the blank spaces
Or a magnificent picnic of rewarding verse…

  2. Famine or feast is our plight, for sure, Eileen. I am currently On Pause, resting up after April madness. It is always so lovely to read you. I love it when our very first members pop up at Poets United, reminding me of those good old days online. Now we are hardy veterans, lol.

  3. Oh yes, I relate very well to days of deadlines and blank pages. And how wonderful the rewarding verse, it can feel like a magnificent picnic, indeed. Brilliant response to the prompt.
