About Me

My photo
Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, now living in Cheshire, England. I started to write poetry some years ago, as a hobby. I have enjoyed that new venture very much. My preferences are for long and micro-form poetry styles. A first book of poetry ~ Reason Without Rhyme, was published in December 2013. A second book ~ Fifty Seven Pebbles, was published in September 2015...I am presently compiling the content for my third book. Thank you for visiting my Blog... Everyday Living...

Almost every day seems to be off track
Eyes see a half-skewed version of life
Whilst this reality remains out of focus
It’s now so much further from the truth
Than anyone could have ever imagined
Consequences of actions don’t trouble
Bravado is the new kind of governance
It seems that dreams and nightmares
Have perhaps exchanged their positions
Everyday living is an undefined curiosity…

  1. Such a curiosity! Without the drama and exaggeration everywhere, it might even seem bland to some, But I'd welcome it.

  2. I so agree. I am filled with disbelief every time I listen to the news. I keep imagining my grandma's horrified face, were she here to witness where we have gotten to. Lovely to see you, Eileen!!!!!!!!!

  3. I find limiting the news cycle to no more than a half hour a day works quite well :)

  4. The weight of the world seeps through this poem - every day is a curiosity indeed

  5. Preach it, sister! We’re in a topsy-turvy world!

  6. Trying to focus to figure it all out. Every day living may seem dull, but there are actually so many important details.
